Funding Research

Our work takes significant time, effort and often costly materials to achieve. While some of our projects result in products we can sell, our primary goal is to make research openly available to the community. Because we are focused on providing resources for a relatively small community, we will never be able to monetise through views and have no desire to be involved in advertising. That means to be able to to open, quality and novel research, we need support from the community.

Safety Research Regular Support

If you believe in our Safety Research work and want to support it, then please consider becoming a Patreon member. The goal is to reach enough Patreon members to be able to dedicate a day each week purely to safety research. As well as supporting the work, members can participate in setting the direction for future research. The Patreon is mostly for safety research, although publishing HEMA ratings data is a part of this work.

Other Work & One-Off Donations

You can support any of our other work or make one-off donations for safety research through Ko-Fi, or through our store (below). Donations will help make sure we can create valuable, open-access resources for the community – and make sure to select the type of work you’re donating for so I know what you value and comment if there’s something you’d like to see in future. Most resources are also available on a “pay as you like” basis, and payments go towards producing future resources.

Support our Work

Our work is community funded and requires significant investment in time, materials and tools. All of this costs money. If you’d like to see more please consider a donation – you can specify a specific area you’d like to focus on (e.g. safety research, teaching resource, translations) in the order description. All funds will go to the creation of open-access resources that are free to use.
